The news comes via a tweet from the official Hitman Twitter account, included below. The two games will be remastered with a 4K resolution, run at 60 FPS, and will receive improvements to their lighting effects and control schemes, too.

The two games will come in one package called the Hitman HD Enhanced Collection. The collection will release on Xbox One and PS4, likely to build upon the success of Hitman 2 at the end of last year.

Hitman: Blood Money is the game most likely to see the biggest improvements as part of the HD Enhanced Collection, having released back in 2006 on the Xbox, PS2, Xbox 360 and PC.

Meanwhile, Hitman Absolution released in 2012 for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, and so doesn’t look quite as dated visually as its predecessor.

IO Interactive has released two episodic ‘series’ of Hitman in the past few years, which saw Agent 47 traveling to different cities around the world in order to eliminate targets. Each place had different side missions and challenges to take on.

We were fairly big fans of Hitman 2 when we reviewed it, stating that while little had changed since the 2016 season, the new locations are so well designed that it doesn’t feel overly familiar. You can check out our full review here.

Hitman HD Enhanced Collection is due to release on Jan. 11, 2019.
