Halo Infinite Will Not Have A Battle Royale Mode

Halo Infinite, Bonnie Ross

It looks like 343 Industries is not going to be subscribing to the popular battle royale trend right now, at least for Halo Infinite. During an overnight livestream hosted via the Halo Mixer channel, the team played Halo and took a few fan questions during the get together. The conversation immediately turned to Halo Infinite, and whether or not, like many other games coming in the near future, it might have a battle royale feature. Writer Jeff Easterling, nicknamed Grim Brother one, put the kibosh on that thought.

“I’ll tell you right now,” he said, “The only BR we’re interested in is Battle Rifle, the original BR. So calm yourself.” It was obviously a joke, but it set the tone for the rest of the stream, so it’s likely that the team just isn’t thinking of adding this feature like the rest of the shooter brethren out there seem to be doing, such as Call of Duty and Battlefield. We don’t know much about Halo Infinite at all at the moment, so any sort of tidbits rolling out from the developer are relatively new, especially since it’s going to be quite some time before we hear anything else about it.

You can watch the entire Mixer stream here, where Grim says the infamous quote at around the 55 minute mark. It may be prudent to tune into other Mixer streams in the near future, especially if little bombs like these are being dropped on the regular if you can’t wait for Halo Infinite.
