Gwent: The Witcher Card Game has been announced by CD Projekt RED and will allow players to challenge one another to games. Originally a mini game in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Gwent is massively entertaining and fans have been asking for an online version for some time.
Those of you who consider yourselves masters of Gwent will want to get yourselves down to Cologne, Germany for this year’s Gamescom, where it has been confirmed that the new online game will be playable.
The Witcher’s official site has confirmed that attendees of Gamescom will be able to get hands on with Gwent before the closed beta begins.
“GWENT was made because of the amazing effort of The Witcher community — we’ve received tons and tons of messages to make a standalone version happen and now we finally have the chance to show GWENT to the public for the first time!” said Marcin Momot, Senior Social Media and Community Coordinator. “Gamescom is one of those special events that allows us to thank gamers for their support in person. So we’d love to have a chat with you in Cologne, hear your thoughts about GWENT and get direct feedback on how the game plays for you.”
A release date for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is yet to be announced but a beta for PC and Xbox One is coming this September, with a beta for the PS4 following thereafter. Better get your decks in order!
