It was announced earlier today that Genesect will be coming to Pokemon GO next week via a paid Special Research event. The A Drive to Investigate Special Research event will run from March 20 at 8 a.m. until March 23 at 10 p.m. (local time).
This paid Special Research event titled a Drive to Investigate will be similar to the Regigigas event held last November. It’s $7.99 to gain access to the event. The ticket for A Drive to Investigate can be purchased from the start of the event on March 20 at 8 a.m. up until March 23 at 8 p.m.
Besides getting to catch Genesect at the end of the A Drive to Investigate Special Research there’s also a massive list of rewards you’ll get throughout the quest:
- A Drive to Investigate medal
- Encounters with various Bug- and Steel-type Pokemon, including Pinsir, Scizor, Skarmory, Karrablast, Durant, and Shelmet
- Genesect-themed bag and a cap
- 5 Premium Battle Passes, 3 Super Incubators, 3 Charged TMs, 3 Fast TMs, 3 Incense, 3 Star Pieces, 1 Poffin, 15 Rare Candies, and 1 Glacial Lure
- Encounters with Scyther, Skarmory, Nincada, and Shieldon for completing exclusive Field Research tasks
On top of this paid event, there will also be a number of bonuses as well as different wild and hatchable Pokemon. For starters, every trainer will receive double Stardust for any mon that they hatch or catch during the time of the event.
Here are all the official details on the changes to the Pokemon that will appear in the wild, eggs and raids:
- Normal-, Fire-, Water-, Electric-, and Ice-type Pokemon will be appearing more often in the wild. Pokémon such as Jigglypuff, Magnemite, Marill, Houndour, and Snorunt will appear more frequently in the wild.
- Nincada will be appearing in the wild and hatching from 5 km Eggs. A shiny variant is also available.
- Karrablast and Shelmet will be hatching more often from 5 km Eggs.
- One-star to four-star Raid Battles will feature various Bug- or Steel-type Pokemon.
