Though most may not know him by name, you’d be hard-pressed to find many that didn’t know his music. The Coalition has announced Game of Thrones Composer Ramin Djawadi will be the man behind the music for Gears of War 4.
“Needless to say, everyone at The Coalition and Xbox is a huge fan of Ramin’s work, and the music he’s composed for Gears of War 4 is something we think is really special and adds an amazing dimension to the experience,” Coalition community director Adam Fletcher writes in post on Xbox Wire.
Djawadi is responsible for a wide array of music across over three-dozen movies, television shows, and games. Some of his most notable soundtracks include Game of Thrones, Iron Man, Racific Rim, and even the recently released Warcraft.
“Ramin’s compositions mixed with the sounds of the iconic lancers, gnashers and voices of the franchise, take the game to a whole new level,” Fletcher continues. A behind the scenes look at how Djawadi developed the music, the video below also includes a sample of what fans can expect from the next in the Gears of War series.
This is only the latest big name composer announced for an upcoming game. Sony opened its E3 press conference earlier this summer with news that Battlestar Galactica and The Walking Dead Composer Bear McCreary would be handling the music for God of War 4.
Gears of War 4 comes to Xbox One and PC Oct. 11.
