Funko, the company best known for its collectible vinyl figures, has unveiled a new Cyberpunk 2077 line during the London Toy Fair 2020. The set is comprised of five figures, two of which are different versions of the popular Johnny Silverhand, modeled on actor Keanu Reeves, while another two are the standard male and female designs for the main protagonist V. The fifth, which is pictured separately, introduces a new character called Takemura.
Quite who Takemura is and how big a role he’s to play in Cyberpunk 2077 is unknown. As of right now, the only images we have of him are the Funko Pop you’ll see below. It seems like a strange way for Cyberpunk 2077 to reveal a previously unheard of character if you ask me.
You can check out the images below, which were posted by Funko’s Twitter page.
As for the designs as a whole, they’re… ok? Funko Pop fans are sure to like them, I guess, but other than Jonny Silverhand’s sunglass-wearing version, they seem a little uninspired. They’re certainly unlikely to appease those still reeling from Cyberpunk 2077’s five-month delay.
Fans of high-quality figures need not worry, though: Sideshow recently announced a merchandise parternship with CD Projekt Red. The company is known for exceptionally detailed figures, and we’re expecting to hear more about its own line soon.
