The news comes via a post over on the official Epic Games blog, detailing the contents of the new event. According to the post, each day that 14 Days of Summer goes on for in Fortnite, Battle Royale players will see an unvaulted weapon for 24 hours only, a new LTM to play, a daily challenge and free reward, and new outfits and cosmetics in the item shop.

As far as the LTMs go, 14 Days of SUmmer looks to really shake things up a bit. Splashdown Squads sees all players trying to eliminate opponents with the new Water Balloon item as they try to reach the goal score to win the game. It’ll also have respawns. Whereas Headshots Duos limits damage to just headshots, with shotguns removed.

Tank Battle Squads greatly increases health and shields players start with, and sees the return of the ‘Siphon’ mechanic which is sure to keep players happy, while Builders Paradise Squads greatly increases structure health and resource rates, and neutral editing is enabled.

You can read up on all of the LTMs coming in Fortnite’s 14 Days of Summer event in the blog post linked above. For details on everything else, it looks like we’ll just have to wait until tomorrow.

It’s not just Battle Royale that’s getting in on the sunshine-related antics. Save the World will have a new quest each and every day that’ll see Homebase host the hottest summer party. Players who complete these quests can also earn some “summer freebies in the store,” with those who complete all 14 quests unlocking a new weapon.

Fortnite is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Android, and iOS devices. You can also check out our Season 9 guide wiki for challenges, Fortbytes, and secret star locations.
