Today we get an explanation via Twitter for the War Monk/War Cleric class, which will return to the DLC from previous games of the series,

War Clerics and War Monks (respectively female and male) are powerful warriors with faith in their hearts and wielding axe and gauntlets.

Their exclusive technique “Distant Hit” is a long-range strike with 1-2 range. It degrades your weapon’s durability but its power changes depending on your character’s magic stat. They can also use a bit of healing magic.
