Sensor Tower, a site dedicated to the economy of mobile applications, has revealed that Nintendo’s Fire Emblem Heroes has managed to make over $500 million since the launch back in February of 2017.
This is quite the surprise as Fire Emblem Heroes is a free to play mobile title with in-app purchases and is quite the niche title when looking at Nintendo’s other franchises that have hit the mobile market.
In comparison, Super Mario Run has made $68 million, Dragalia Lost is at $74 million, and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp hs raked in a solid $70 million. When you look at the numbers, Fire Emblem Heroes has blown up in terms of gross revenue and has made more than double the profit of the aforementioned mobile games.
Nintendo can thank Japan for the majority of the Fire Emblem Heroes spending, as the country makes up for 56% of the total sales ($280 million), with the United States making up 31% of player spending and a mix of other regions making up the last 13%.
Fire Emblem Heroes may have made a ton of money in the past two years, but it still cannot even get close to the success that Pokemon GO has seen in the past 3 years or so, making over $2 billion since launch.
Are any of you still playing Heroes? If so, let us know if you ever spent money on the game. If so, let us know how much!
