Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is a re-imagining of the 1992 title, Fire Emblem Gaiden, which launched for the Famicom exclusively in Japan. Shadows of Valentia is a fully-fledged remake that is preserving the original’s unconventional gameplay elements but is re-imagining the games world.

Fire Emblem Echoes is scheduled to be released in the West very shortly on May 19, 2017. Since the title has already been released in Japan, Nintendo has graciously uploaded the opening cinematic of the game on their Japanese YouTube channel.  We’re only one month out but this fantastic opening for the game will make you wish you lived in Japan.

Nintendo has also previously announced that Shadows of Valentia will be getting a limited edition bundle for $59.99 that launches the same day as the retail title. The bundle includes the game; a hardcover Valentia Artbook; a Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Sound Selection CD; a Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Pin Set depicting characters Alm, Celica and Marth; and a reversible cover sheet that looks like the packaging for the original Famicom game this new one is based on.
