Fire Embem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia was recently announced for the Nintendo 3DS during a Fire Emblem direct. The title is a reimagining of Fire Emblem Gaiden, the second Fire Emblem game that only came out in Japan back in 1992.
Some new screenshots of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia have popped up on Nintendo U.K.’s official site, offering new details on the spring 3DS title.
The new images show off the unique battle interface that looks pretty different from what we’ve seen in Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates. Shadows of Valentia not only features strategic battles that we’re used to, but there will be free-roam 3D environments for you to play around in.
There seems to be a class changing system that lets you choose between 5 classes: cavalier, soldier, mercenary, archer, and mage. What’s different this time around is that you chnage your class via shrines that you find in dungeons.
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia releases in North America on May 19.
