Every year, Final Fantasy XIV players gather to celebrate the Holidays with the Starlight Celebration, this year is going to be no exception.

The celebration will begin in the game on Dec. 17 at 12:00 AM PST, and it will end on Dec.31 at 6:59 AM. Players of level 15 or higher will begin the quest by talking to Amh Garanjy in Old Gridania.

Prizes will include a Christmas-themed choir outfit, a Christmas tree (called Starlight Sentinal in Eorzea), a snowman, a tray of donuts, a set of tabletop twinkleboxes, an orchestrion roll for the theme music “Starlight, Starbright.”

Below you can see the prizes and the beautiful themed illustration.

The Starlight Celebration is one of the most rooted traditions in Final Fantasy XIV, with the first dating back to the dark times of 1.0. It has continued uninterrupted until now, missing only its 2012 edition, when the servers were down between the closure of the first version of the game, before the launch of A Realm Reborn.

As a massive Final Fantasy XIV fan, I will always remember the year when we had no Starlight Celebration. Despite the fact that it was a rather sad period for the fans of the game, it still conveys one of the most epic success stories in the history of the MMORPG market, born of the development team’s dedication and determination.
