Ubisoft has officially confirmed that its second major expansion for Far Cry 6 will be coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC, on Jan. 11.

The new DLC is dubbed Pagan: Control and will give players the opportunity to step into the blood-splattered shoes of the infamous villain from Far Cry 4, Pagan Min.

Interestingly, Pagan: Control is being pitched as a “roguelite” experience, which is pretty unique for the Far Cry first-person shooter series. In the new mode, players will be transported into the mind of the titular antagonist and will have to face his greatest fears and defeat them in a new psychological horror-esque adventure.

For those unaware, Far Cry 6’s latest DLC packs focus on former villains from the franchise. The first – Vaas: Insanity – featured Vaas Montenegro, the drug-dealing looney from Far Cry 3, while the next one, coming later this year – Joseph: Collapse – will center on deranged religious zealot Joseph Seed from Far Cry 5.

Our very own Chris Jecks reviewed Far Cry 6 at launch and really enjoyed his time with the game ultimately awarding it a 4/5, saying:

With a solid story, an engaging cast of characters, and a plethora of enthralling side content, Far Cry 6 is an easy recommendation for FPS fans.

For more information about Far Cry 6’s upcoming expansion Pagan: Control, here’s the rundown courtesy of an official press release we received recently:

Pagan: Control, the second major DLC coming to Far Cry 6 as part of the Season Pass, will be available on 11th January on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Stadia, as well as Windows PC through the Ubisoft Store and the Epic Games Store. Players can also subscribe to Ubisoft+* on PC, Stadia and Amazon Luna.** Players must own Far Cry 6 to access Pagan: Control.

Players will embody Pagan Min, the iconic villain from Far Cry® 4, in a brand-new experience inspired by the roguelite genre taking place in the depths of the villain’s troubled psyche. Blending intense action and storytelling, Pagan: Control will provide a unique opportunity for players to explore Pagan’s mind, learn more about his past, and face off against familiar faces as he struggles to break free from his cycle of guilt and regrets.

Pagan: Control is scheduled to arrive on consoles and PC on Jan. 11.
