Far Cry 5 has gotten off to a strong start, easily setting a record as the fastest-selling Far Cry games of all time. Although Ubisoft didn’t announce exact sales numbers, apparently Far Cry 5 more than doubled the first-week sell-through of the previous best-selling game, Far Cry 4. The impressive first week also makes Far Cry 5 the second biggest launch ever for a Ubisoft game, clocking in at $310 million in consumer spending, just behind Tom Clancy’s The Division.
Ubisoft had even more records to share, stating that people streamed more than 55,000 hours of the game on Twitch and YouTube amounting to over 117 million views. The executive producer of Far Cry, Dan Hay, responded to the first week saying “We are humbled by players’ reception of Far Cry 5 and fired up to keep growing and supporting the Far Cry community in the months and years to come.”
There’s plenty of other stats to check out in the post from Ubisoft including more fun ones, like that 8651 players were ambushed by skunks.
Far Cry 5 is now available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Make sure to take a look at our review and see what we liked, and didn’t like about the game. Are you enjoying your trip to Hope County, Montana? Let us know down in the comments.
