Today, during the PlayStation Access livestream from EGX in London, Koei Tecmo Europe showcased the very first localized gameplay of Fairy Tail.
The game is developed by the creators of the Atelier series at Gust, so it shouldn’t surprise that it’s a fairly classic turn-based JRPG.
Interestingly, it appears that positioning and area of effect of spells is quite important, adding a small strategt JRPG elemeent.
We also get to see the anime visuals with a shader that well represents the original style of the anime.
The demo was played live and narrated by Koei Tecmo Europe PR & Marketing Executive Nathan Mills, so what you see is what you get.
You can watch it below.
The demo showcases the guild itself, the city of Crocus, and plenty of battle gameplay. It certainly looks rather fetching.
If you want to learn more you should read our interview with producer keisuke Kikuchi.
You can also check out the original announcement trailer, gameplay footage from Tokyo Game Show, and a gallery of screenshots, and the latest batch introducing Juvia and Gajeel.
Fairy Tail will be released for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in 2020.
