Four teams from North America and Europe will be competing for the prize pool of $100,000 at the tournament. Group stages will be on Saturday, while the finals will take place on Sunday. The announcement mentioned that fans will be able to watch it live, but did not state where.

There will be four qualifiers for the tournament, the first starting on June 27 and hosted by ESL Play. Players will be able to compete in the open qualifier, which will go on over the span of four days of every week in July. Open qualifiers are followed by a regional qualifier, and then a final online qualifier. The release dates for when the other qualifiers will start have not been released by ESL or Blizzard.

According to a report by Daily Dot, match series will follow a best-of-three format for the tournament. Any other information such as the rule set or if players will be limited to one character is currently not known. Fans who want more updates on the tournament can follow the ESL Overwatch Twitter and Facebook.
