Today Media Molecule announced that the studio is starting to explore the use of Dreams for business purposes.
As you can see below, the tweet mentions that Media Molecule is launching a small beta trial for creators that want to use the game’s creation suite for their products.
More information can be used here, including an application form.
That being said, for now, the beta won’t allow creators to sell full games, but it involves uses like concept art, music videos, albums, and short films. The purpose of the beta is exactly to figure out how this could be expanded since this is treading new ground for the folks at Media Molecule.
“We’ve had lots of questions from creators about using Dreams for viable business opportunities off PlayStation such as concept artwork. We welcome and encourage creators to do this, but it’s new territory for us. We’ve been busy behind the scenes mapping out how we can make it easier for creators to do this in the future. We are kicking this off with a beta evaluation, where creators can submit an application to use Dreams for a specific project.”
It’ll be interesting to see where this goes, but for now, we’ll have to wait for the results of the beta.
