Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch on Sept. 27, 2019, Square Enix announced during the Nintendo Direct presentation today.
Square Enix had released a different trailer for the game yesterday at the company’s E3 press conference, but had only announced it as coming this fall.
Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition will come with more content, such an expanded storyline, a fully orchestrated soundtrack, Japanese and English voice overs, and the ability to switch from modern graphics to 16-bit graphics, similar to the Nintendo 3DS version of the title.
The new trailer also showcased other features like more monsters to ride, increased speed of battles, and travelling to past Dragon Quest worlds.
Dragon Quest XI Echoes of an Elusive Age released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One worldwide last September, while the Definitive Edition will only be available for Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo also announced during the E3 Direct that the Hero from the Dragon Quest franchise will be a new DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate coming this summer. The focus was mostly on the Hero from Dragon Quest XI during the trailer, but players will be able to pick a specific Hero from various Dragon Quest games as alternative skins.
