Dragon Ball FighterZ Switch Launch Records Big Numbers in Japan (Media Create)

According to Japanese analyst firm Media Create, Dragon Ball FighterZ’s debut in Japan has recorded impressive numbers. Despite launching three days into the week, the licensed fighting game slots in at number five spot. Nintendo’s hardware itself also remains firmly in the lead for the region.

Last week saw the release of several titles in Japan that have all performed exceptionally, including Warriors 4 Orochi, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV, and FIFA 19. Dragon Ball FighterZ’s Switch version, released on Sept. 27 in Japan, three days into the Sept. 24 – 30 window the below figures were recorded for. Yet still, its made its presence felt.

Elsewhere, Marvel’s Spider-Man continues its strong run of form with another week well inside in the top 10, and Nintendo Switch sales are over double its closest rival.
