Developer id Software’s executive producer of DOOM Eternal, Marty Stratton, has just revealed that a new single-player horde mode will be added to the game in the near future. The team is redirecting its efforts to the new mode after making the decision not to release the planned ‘Invasion mode’ as a result of complications due to COVID-19 work-from-home measures.
The news comes by way of a Tweet from the developer’s official channel:

As you may have read above, there are also plans to overhaul the Battlemode with a more competitive rank-based structure, as well as new gameplay balancing updates and an all-new level.
Id Software’s continued post-launch support of DOOM Eternal has so far been hugely impressive, with several major title updates adding new features and content to the game. You can read more about the full list of changes and additions to the game in its most recent title update (Update 6) here.
Additionally, there have been two major DLC expansions that have introduced new story chapters to the game — the last of which was called The Ancient Gods Part 2 (trailer here).
