Nintendo confirmed through Twitter today that the port of Blizzard’s popular hack ‘n slash Diablo III will release on Switch on Nov. 2nd. The port, subtitled Eternal Collection, will include the base game along with all of the updates and DLC the PC and console versions have received since launch, including the Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer expansions.

The launch of Diablo III: Eternal Collection will mark the first time in the history of the series that it has come to a Nintendo platform. Its first appearance will be in a Nintendo style, with bonus Zelda-themed items coming to the game. The cosmetics items include the Legend of Ganondorf armor set, Tri-Force portrait frame, Cucco pet, and Echoes of the Mask wings.

Diablo III will also take advantage of the Switch’s unique hybrid control schemes. Besides the fact that the game will be fully playable in handheld mode, the game will also be fully playable with a single joy-con. That one controller compatibility lends itself nicely to the new local ad-hoc co-op mode that will allow up to four players to grind for that sweet, sweet loot on one Switch console.

The Eternal Collection likely counts as one of the “many” Diablo projects Blizzard teased at Blizzcon this year. What the future of Diablo holds beyond this November remains to be seen, but since the base game released a decade ago, now might be a great time to move on to Diablo 4.

Set to launch at a $60 price point, the title won’t feature cross-play or even cross-saves, according to Blizzard. Perhaps the Eternal Collection is aimed at an audience who has yet to fall in love with the Diablo series, instead of those who have been smitten for years. Regardless, both groups of gamers will get another go or a first time experience with the franchise later this fall.
