Today is Wednesday, which means that a new pair of Media Create charts has been released, describing the landscape of the Japanese video game market in the week between March 4 and March 10.
This time around we get to see the debut of Devil May Cry 5, which makes the charts rather interesting.

And now, it’s time for the hardware chart.
- Switch: 69,766
- PS4: 25, 154
- PS4 Pro: 7,208
- New 2DS XL: 4,424
- PS Vita: 3,002
- New 3DS XL 1,182
- 2DS: 112

While the Switch continues to sell like cheese tarts (you might be surprised by how popular they are in Japan), easily topping the hardware chart, the software ranking is dominated by Devil May Cry 5, even if its debut numbers aren’t exactly massive.
Yet, it did give a boost to the PS4, which pushes past 30,000 units combining base model and pro for the first time since the Holidays.
Kirby’s Epic Yarn still managed to sell over 10,000 copies despite being on 3DS, while the PS Vita still sold over 3,000 units, getting quite close to a total installed base of six million in Japan despite being discontinued.
