Destiny 2’s Clans Won’t Be Available for “First Several Days After Launch”

Cracking open a cold one with the boys is going to have to wait.

Destiny 2

Bungie’s official troubleshooting Twitter account posted yesterday that the highly anticipated next game in the studio’s newest franchise, Destiny 2, won’t be including clans right out of the gate. Instead, fans will have to wait “several days after launch” in order to use the feature.

This, of course, effects the game’s reliance on co-op – something undoubtedly important in any new online first-person shooter. Though not a complete deal-breaker, clans help players find dedicated groups of Guardians to explore the game with. Nightfalls, raids and quests are also reliant on clan support, meaning players won’t be able to earn as many special rewards separated as opposed to together.

The delay in for Destiny 2’s clan feature could be due to a new mode set to appear in the title called Guided Games. This feature allows solo players to connect with pre-existing clans to play through what they may find to be some of the game’s most challenging content, including the aforementioned Nightfalls and raids. Guided Games will be playable as a beta by select Guardians come September 12 and 26.

Destiny 2 is now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the PC version of the game releasing on October 24 through Blizzard’s Battle.net.

In other news for the title, it appears as though some individuals running the game on PlayStation 4 Pro are experiencing repeated crashing and freezing. In some cases, the glitches are blocking their progress entirely.
