Until very recently, the Danganronpa games have been published in the west by NIS America, despite being developed by Spike Chunsoft.
In semi-recent times, Spike Chunsoft has been expanding its reach as a publisher, and it has now taken back publishing rights for Danganronpa in the west under its own umbrella.
The announcement was shared on Twitter with no further details and the promise to release an official statement as soon as said details are finalized.
You can see it below.
This will likely come as no surprise as Spike Chunsoft has already been publishing the games on Steam and recently launched the original title of the series for mobile platforms with the second coming in August and the third further down the line.
While the most prominent creators behind the series have left the publisher to move on to Too Kyo Games, the two parties have continued to work together and Spike Chunsoft appears to have plans for the series moving forward, starting with more announcements coming for its 10th anniversary.
We’ll keep you posted on whatever is announced in the future, but for now, we’ll have to wait and see.
