CD Projekt Red has today continued its efforts to improve Cyberpunk 2077’s performance with a new hotfix, this time aimed at fixing a save file exploit first discovered last week by members of the game’s modding community.

In a statement to Eurogamer, CDPR explained that a group of community members had alerted them to an issue with the external DLL files the game. The issue potentially allowed save files to be used as part of a remote code execution on PCs.

The developer had recommended that players refrain from using files obtained from unknown sources until a fix had been issued. And here it is.

CD Projekt Red has been working tirelessly to patch Cyberpunk 2077 since the game’s shaky launch back in December. In particular, its performance on previous generation consoles was lackluster, which has improved somewhat since release –most recently with Patch 1.1, and Hotfix 1.11 which actually fixed an issue caused by the previous patch.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X|S, PC, and Google Stadia.
