Toys for Bob, the developers responsible for Crash 4: It’s About Time, has revealed that they’re development efforts are now focused on a different franchise.
In a post made to Twitter by the developer on Apr. 29, it was revealed that the studio is now supporting development for Call of Duty: Warzone’s third season of content.
“Toys for Bob is proud to support development for Season 3 of Call of Duty #Warzone, and look forward to more to come. #LETSGO dev squads!” they wrote.
The full scope of the development support they’ll provide is currently unknown. Likewise, it is unknown how this will affect the development of future the Crash Bandicoot series, though no sequel to Crash 4 is known to be or have been in development.
The news comes a few months after the release of Crash Bandicoot 4, a direct sequel to the third game in the series and the first proper sequel to release on the eighth generation of consoles. It was released on a wide swath of platforms as well, including every eighth generation console, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and PC.
The game received generally positive reviews from critics and fans alike, and it boasted promising sales figures in its first few weeks on the market.
The move also mirrors changes made with the focus of other studios owned by Activision Blizzard. Vicarious Visions, the developers behind the recent Tony Hawk’s Pro-Skater 1+2 remake, recently refocused their development resources toward the Diablo 2 Remake after collaborating with Blizzard’s core developers on the project for some time.
