While the game’s trailer didn’t reveal much information, the Civilization VI Steam page revealed some of the game’s news features. For starters, Civilization VI’s cities will now physically expand across the maps “so you can custom build your cities to take full advantage of the local terrain.”

Civilization VI will also expand on Civ V’s chess piece style gameplay by introducing new support units, that can attach to other units. These support units will include anti-tank support for infantry units and a warrior unit to protect settlers. The Steam page also noted that players will be able to unlock boosts to speed up your science progress. These boosts will unlock when players “use units to actively explore, develop your environment, and discover new cultures.”

Civilization VI will be released on Oct. 21 and the game is now available for pre-order. The standard version of the game costs $59.99, while the Deluxe version will run players $79.99. There are also two Steam Controller Bundles that cost $114.98 for the controller along with the standard version of the game, and a deluxe version for $134.98.
