Nioh will be hitting the PS4 in about a day, and Koei Tecmo Japan has just uploaded the game’s opening cinematic movie to their official YouTube channel. It shows off William, his allies, as well as a the faces of the game’s villains, so look away if you don’t want to be spoiled on the villains’ identities, though the movie does remain pretty vague. You can check out the video down below.
Nioh was developed by Team Ninja, and is a mix between Ninja Gaiden and Souls-like gameplay. Players will take control of William, a sailor who finds himself shipwrecked in Japan, and ends up being the first ever western samurai in the world. Unlike Dark Souls, however, Nioh actually features quite a few cutscenes that will help to flesh out the game’s story, and its plot will unfold in a more traditional manner that we’re used to.
Nioh is set to be released exclusive for the PS4 on February 7. Our review will go up some time later this week.
