Challenge Yourself with Warhammer: Vermintide 2’s Content Update

Video games these days are all about longevity. How long can developers keep players coming back for more? That all depends on how much content their games contain, and free content updates help ensure players have plenty of activities to stay occupied.

Fatshark Games recently updated Warhammer: Vermintide 2 with a titular free Content Update that focuses around Okri’s Challenges. These provide players with short titular challenges and more difficult daily, weekly, and event quests that require players to complete levels as specific characters, kill a set number of enemies, and unlock character talents, just to name a few. Some quests and challenges will be easier than others, but all are doable. Plus, what is a challenge without a reward? Not many gamers are willing to perform tasks for nothing.

Each time a player completes one of Okri’s Challenges, he or she earns a Commendation Chest. Not only does the update increase the odds of obtaining cosmetic items from a chest, it also includes over one hundred new cosmetic options, including hats, skins, and portraits. And yes, a sizable number of these new cosmetics can only be earned through Okri’s Challenges. Since the tabletop Warhammer franchise that inspired Vermintide places a lot of emphasis on customizing the appearances of miniatures, these new cosmetic options will no doubt please any Warhammer fan. Well, any who prefers Humans, Elves, and Dwarves to Chaos, Greenskins, and Skaven.

Furthermore, the Content Update, at long last, brings official mod support. Players are now free to download mods through the Steam Workshop. Plus, the update provides numerous bug fixes and quality of life improvements, including the inability to receive duplicate hats. No longer will players have to worry about opening Commendation Chests and obtaining a hat they already own.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is currently available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
