The chances of Cyberpunk 2077 including multiplayer have gone up thanks to some new job postings made by CD Projekt Red.
On the developer’s official website, a job posting has been made for two different positions: One is for a network programmer to design and implement the network layer of their in-house Redngine; and the other is for a senior technology programmer who would be responsible for the design, optimization, implementation and maintenance of their games’ systems. While no titles have been specified as the focus of these positions, both could apply nicely to the development of a multiplayer component for their newest title. It also helps that while the team did say Cyberpunk will be single player focused at launch, they are open to the idea of having multiplayer further into the game’s lifespan.
Originally revealed through a hacking incident in 2017, the game was revealed in earnest during this year’s E3 with a new trailer. A first person RPG set in a world where people and their characteristics are fully customizable through the use of technology, players can make their way through the game in whatever way they choose in terms of aesthetics, play style and much more. That said, the most recent demo was shown using a very powerful PC in order to properly convey the title’s open world gameplay.
Cyberpunk 2077 is slated for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. For more on the title, check out our list of four elements which still need to be improved from the game based on our demo time at E3 2018.
