First of all, we learn that Resident Evil 3 has shipped over 2.5 million units, while Monster Hunter World is now at 15.5 million units.

In addition to Resident Evil 3, during the current fiscal year (which goes from April 1, 2020, to March 31, 2021) the publisher plans to release “multiple major new titles” on top of pushing ongoing sales of games from last years.

They’re aiming to ship a record-high 28 million units of games during the year. That is considerably more than the 25.5 million units shipped in the past fiscal year (ended on March 31, 2020).

Of those, 21.45 million units were shipped outside of Japan and 20.55 million sold digitally. 18.2 million were catalog games, meaning released before March 31, 2019. That includes Monster Hunter: World, Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry 5, Street Fighter V, and Resident Evil 7.

For the current fiscal year, of the 28 million units goal 24.95 would be shipped outside of Japan, 23.5 digitally, and only 18 million would be catalog games released before March 31, 2020. That includes Monster Hunter: World, its expansion Iceborne, and Resident Evil 2.

This means that Capcom expects the considerable growth of units shipped to come from those “multiple major titles” mentioned above.

Incidentally, we learn that Capcom employs approximately 2.150 developers including 900 graduates hired in the past nine years.
