Call of Duty: WWII is one of the most anticipated games of the year and will see the Call of Duty franchise veer away from a futuristic setting and see the shooter return to its roots in a World War II setting. A beta for the game kicked off earlier this week and has given us a look at how its multiplayer works.
Call of Duty is known for its killcams, which give you a replay if how you were killed, and usually each match ends with a killcam of the final kill, regardless of how skillful it actually was. As GameSpot reports, this has changed with WWII and now matches will end by showing a replay of the kill the game deems to be most impressive.
This is similar to a replay feature found in Bizzard’s online shooter Overwatch which does the same. This replay feature should mean we’ll see fewer boring final kill replays and instead reward talented players who show true skill on the battlefield, rather than those who simply got lucky. It’ll be interesting to see some of the crazy kills we’ll no doubt see when the game launches.
Call of Duty: WWII is set to be released later this year on November 3 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The PS4 beta is currently open to those who have either pre-ordered the game or gotten a code from the game’s site.
