The space adventure continues.

Destiny 2 is still on track for a 2017 release, and it looks like Bungie has shifted most of its focus to the sequel. During Activision’s second quarter earnings call and investors’ Q&A, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirschberg revealed that most of Bungie’s focus had now shifted to the development of the sequel.

‘”The majority of the team at Bungie is actually focused entirely on creating Destiny 2,” Hirshberg said during the call when asked for an update on Destiny’s future.

Hirshberg didn’t elaborate more on what is in the works for the game, but he reconfirmed that the sequel is on track for a release in 2017, as Activisionpreviously stated earlier this year.’

Destiny will be getting its final expansion this fall, titled Rise of Iron, though it will only be available to PS4 and Xbox One owners as the game leaves the PS3 and Xbox 360 player base behind. Last-gen players will still be able to enjoy the game, but will no longer receive updates or live events moving forward.
