Bungie Allows Destiny 2 Clan Migration Later This Month

Decisions must be made.

Destiny 2

Destiny 2 developer Bungie is allowing clans on its Bungie.net service to become full Destiny 2 clans before the game launches this fall. The process to migrate begins July 25, and clan leaders have one month to act on the transition.

“Clan Founders will be able to transfer their title and permissions to another member who will be a more faithful leader for future adventures,” Bungie said in a blog post. “If you have bigger plans for the existing Group that hosts your Clan, you can leave it as is and explore your own community purpose outside of the game.”

A new clan creation option that supports Destiny 2 will launch on Bungie.net after the one month housekeeping period. The reason behind the manual switch is that Destiny 2 clans will have features that old Bungie.net clans that have been around since Halo 2 cannot support, such as guided games that reward clans for carrying solo players through endgame missions. Clans “will retain their basic structure” with a maximum of 100 members, and players can only join one clan on each platform.

Destiny 2 launches Sept. 6 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, while the PC version releases Oct. 24. The beta begins for those with a pre-order on July 18 for PlayStation 4 and July 19 for Xbox One. The beta will open up to all console players on July 21, but is expected to come to PC in late August.
