It looks like Overwatch fans will soon have new comics to further the limited and interesting story of the game’s characters that we’ve seen thus far. Today, Blizzard went into detail about their new partnership with Dark Horse, and touched on the new graphic novel and art book that will be coming in 2017.
The first step in this partnership is Dark Horse’s republishing of Blizzards previous seven Overwatch comic issues (titled “Old Soldiers”) through their own digital service. Dark Horse will also handle the publishing of future issues, the next of which will focus on the game’s new sniper mom, Ana Amari.
One of the two larger projects of this partnership will be a 100-page graphic novel (cover pictured above) that is due out in April 2017. Dark Horse gave no specific details about the graphic novel, but did say that it will focus on the original Overwatch team. The other project is “The Art of Overwatch,” which will feature previously unseen concept art from the game. The large hardcover book is due out in Summer 2017.
If you wanna read more about Ana as a playable character in the game, we have a handy guide to her abilities as well as feature explaining why she’s a great addition to the competitive mode.
