BioShock: The Collection is on its way to the current generation, bringing three classic games back with updated graphics and, as we learned today, a hidden documentary series.
Playing through the remastered games, players will be able to hunt down Golden Reels scattered throughout the worlds. These unlock episodes of “Imagining BioShock,” a video series exploring the making of the BioShock titles.
“Sometimes it’s necessary to go back to the drawing board,” 2K’s Darren Gladstone shared on the PlayStation Blog. “You may not realize all of the restarts that happened before BioShock as you know it got off the ground. Or the thoughts that came out of focus groups playing early builds of the game. Those are the sorts of insights you’ll get from watching ‘Imagining BioShock.'”
Hosted by Geoff Keighley, these episodes feature BioShock Creative Director Ken Levine and Lead Animator Shawn Robertson sharing their most memorable development stories. In a teaser for Episode 6 released today, we see the team recalling the “depressing” moment focus testers laughed at their demo.
BioShock: The Collection comes to PS4, Xbox One, and PC September 13.
