Tons of new stuff was shown off during Ubisoft’s E3 2017 conference, with a few things we already knew about but still got some new details (looking at you Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battles). For this list, we took a look at the seven best games shown during the briefing, and all the new info we got about them during.

The Crew 2 was one of the first games shown off during the conference, with a first official look of the title showing off exactly why fans love the fast-paced action of the series taking to the ground, sea, and sky.

You can get your drive on in a ton of different environments, varying from the open sea and classic street races, to off-road driving in the back country and soaring dangerously close to buildings in stylish planes. Like its predecessor that was released back in 2014, The Crew 2 will have open-world street racing and offer customization or its vehicles so you can show them off at your HQ.

The Crew 2 is set to arrive in Early 2018 on PS4, Xbox, and PC, with the ability to sign up for Beta Access currently available on Ubisoft’s website.

TRANSFERENCE

transference, e3 2017, Ubisoft

Actor Elijah Wood’s development company Spectrevision is working with Ubisoft to make a part game, part film, psychological thriller that will be available on both consoles and major VR platforms.

A live-action commercial for the title as well as an interview with Elijah Wood was released by Ubisoft, with a description of the title stating:

“Transference™ is a psychological thriller and the first game collaboration between SpectreVision and Ubisoft. Bridging the gap between movies and games, we invite you to lose yourself in the destructive tale of a man’s obsession as you explore his digitally recreated memories. Experience the limits of techno-psychology and escape a maze-like puzzle concealing a corrupted truth. Get projected into the digital consciousness of troubled case subjects and maybe you will influence their fate.”

It’s set to release in Spring 2018 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, as well as Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PSVR.

SKULL & BONES

skull & Bones, ubisoft, e3 2017

Pirates are totally in right now, and Ubisoft is capitalizing on it with new a IP titled Skull & Bones that looks similar to Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag but minus the assassin stuff and doubling down on swashbuckling adventures.

The ship combat looked very similar to Black Flag, but with the ability to battle friends or head out on your own across the Indian Ocean. There are a selection of ships to choose from, all with their own playoffs relating to traits like speed, damage, or strength. In all, it’s probably best to just choose the one with the most canons hanging off the side.

During the conference it was stated that Skull & Bones has a world that reacts to the actions you do within it, but it was never really expanded upon by what that meant. It ended off with some footage of what appeared to be a Kraken attacking a ship, suggesting other foes other than just pirates lie restless in the waters.

With a Fall 2018 release date, there’s still a ways off before players can get their hands on it. When it does release, it’s coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

SOUTH PARK PHONE DESTROYER

UBISOFT E3 2017 BEST GAMES

Some new footage of South Park: The Fractured But Whole was revealed during Ubisoft’s show, but a new South Park mobile game was the thing that caught everyone by surprise.

Titled South Park Phone Destroyer, it’s a card game where players can choose from a huge variety of classes (including Knights, Cowboys, and of course, Cock Magic). Not much else was described in terms of gameplay, but it essentially looks like the usual card games available on mobile platforms with a few, crude South Park spins to it.

An official release date wasn’t given, but we do know that it is expected to drop sometime this year on both iOS and Android devices.

starlink battle for atlas

Starlink: Battle for Atlas is a toys-to-life, sci-fi game that allows you to customize your own Starship model that you can mount directly onto your console controller. Changing the parts of your model affects the digital copy in-game in real time, allowing a quick change-up of playstyles when going up against any enemy.

The plot of Starlink follows a group of heroic interstellar pilots who are trying to free the Atlas star system from an evil robot group called the Forgotten Legends. You travel through worlds, battling the robots on planets that have their own unique appearances and wildlife.

Starlink: Battle for Atlas is releasing sometime in Fall 2018 for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One.

MARIO + RABBIDS KINGDOM BATTLE

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

The reveal of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was leaked a few weeks ago with key art making its way onto the internet early, but that didn’t stop Ubisoft from showing off the whacky title at the very start of the conference with first ever gameplay footage.

Shigeru Miyamoto himself appeared on stage with some real life models of the in-game weapons Mario and his bunny friends will be using. A description of the game from Ubisoft reads:

This is the story of an unexpected encounter between Mario and the irreverent Rabbids. To bring order back to a splintered Mushroom Kingdom, Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Yoshi team up with Rabbids heroes in a journey through four different worlds. Outwit unpredictable enemies in dynamic turn-based combat and co-op challenges, and solve puzzles along the way. Discover a feel-good and modern combat adventure designed exclusively for the Nintendo Switch™ system, playable anywhere, anytime, with anyone.

The new gameplay shows some depth in how Mario and the Rabbids will battle it out, with turn-based combat mixing with puzzle solving on maps that can be strategically travelled around in order to get leverage on the enemy. On top of it all, Rabbid Peach is super sassy and deserves her own game from what we saw of her today.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle releases on Aug. 29 for the Nintendo Switch and can be pre-ordered now.

BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL 2

UBISOFT E3 2017 BEST GAMES

Ubisoft arguably saved the most-hype reveal for last, as rounding off the conference was the unveiling of Beyond Good and Evil 2 with a stunning new CG trailer.

The original Beyond Good and Evil released all the way back in 2003, meaning the anticipation for the continuation of the series was through the roof. Turns out Beyond Good and Evil 2 is actually a prequel, taking place before the events of the first with a whole new cast of characters.

During the conference Michel Ancel, who created the original Beyond Good and Evil, came on stage to thank fans for sticking with the series, and for Ubisoft to help bring this prequel to players. Also discussed during the briefing was the title’s ability for seamless online play, meaning multiple players can go through the campaign together at once.

There’s no set release date yet, but if you head to the game’s website you can join the “Monkey Space Program” that allows you to help with areas of development, “to crash-test, discuss and inspire everything from character design, to cultural influences, to the flight controls on our massive star-faring vessels.” Make sure to sign up to get whatever little peak of the game you can.
