The demo was discovered by @ChaseJ_T on twitter before being confirmed by Best Buy’s twitter account. It’s not yet clear when or what locations the demos will be available at, but Best Buy says to “Check with your local store as the best source for the latest updates.”

We don’t yet know what characters or modes will be available in this demo or if the demo will be available on the eShop at any point.

In a recent direct, Nintendo revealed the final 74-character roster that will be available when Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches. They also revealed that the game will receive six post-release characters including Piranha Plant and five characters that will be revealed at a later date. A new story mode titled World of Light and a new mode called Spirits were also revealed during the direct.

The direct also revealed the base game’s last newcomers in Ken from Street Fighter and Incineroar from Pokemon Sun and Moon.
