In an update detailing the post-launch map of Battlefield V, EA Dice and Criterion announced that the Battlefield V Battle Royale experience will not be available at the launch of the game next month. Instead, Firestorm will launch in March 2019.

“Battle Royale comes to Battlefield with Firestorm and the war reaches Greece as the third Tides of War chapter is unleashed in the Spring,” the update states.

The update speaks on Firestorm, revealing just a bit more about the battle royale mode.

“During Spring, Dice and Criterion start the fire with Battlefield V’s Battle Royale experience,” the update reads. “Firestorm elevates the mode by bringing in the best of what Battlefield is known for. Mix a shrinking playing field with trademark Battlefield elements such as team play, powerful vehicles, and destruction, and you get many unique Battlefield moments coming your way.”

In the post-launch update, Battlefield will see three chapters expanding on the base game. The first chapter, Overture, will come December and will bring a practice range, vehicle cosmetics, tank battles in Belgium and additional War Stories in the form of The Last Tiger.

The second chapter, Lightning Strikes, will launch in January and bring Grand Operations, Rush, Combat Strike and the multiplayer mode, Squad Contest, into the fold.

Finally, the third chapter, Trial By Fire, will bring battle royale into the mix with Firestorm. Alongside this mode will be a new unannounced multiplayer mode, a new mission and a new location for battle in the form of Greece.

Each of these chapters will allow players to compete in weekly events where they can earn rewards specific to each chapter.

Battlefield V launches on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on November 20, 2018.
