Today Wushu Studios announced that they have been working alongside Larian Studios on the new game as one of their “several” projects in the works.

They also promised to share more about those later this year.

You may be familiar with Wushu Studios as they were formed among others by veterans from Evolution Studios (known for the Motorstorm and Driveclub franchises) following its shutdown by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

They’re led by Alan McDermott, Driveclub’s Audio Director.

We know that the studio has been working on a primarily single-player, narrative-driven sci-fi game, but nothing else has been shared about their main project so far. On top of that, they’ve partnered with Lucid Games on Switchblade.

Wushu Studios Communications Manager Nate Najda provided Twinfinite with a comment on the partnership on Baldur’s Gate 3.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to lend a hand and support the development of Baldur’s Gate III. Being able to work on a classic IP like Baldur’s Gate with a talented team like Larian really is a dream come true.”

If you want to see more about Baldur’s Gate 3 you can check out the first spectacular gameplay, quite a few beautiful screenshots, the original announcement trailer, a clip introducing the project, and a video celebrating the announcement and explaining what was going on in the original trailer.

We also have an extensive interview and hands-on preview from yesterday.

Baldur’s Gate 3 will release for PC and Stadia when it’s ready following an early access phase coming soon. At the moment, Larian Studio isn’t talking about additional platforms.
