It’s no mystery that the reception to the release of Babylon’s Fall by PlatinumGames has not been stellar, yet, those who do enjoy the game have no reason to worry, for now.
The official Twitter account of the game issued a statement mentioning that the continuation of the service is not in danger, and there are no plans to reduce the scale of development either.
Content up to the end of season 2 is basically complete, and development of season 3 and beyond has already started. It’s worth mentioning that a season basically lasts a quarter, so the content developed so far will last at least until July.
The goal is to keep existing players and to attract newcomers as well, which is certainly ambitious and will likely require a pretty spectacular turnaround.
You can read the statement in its entirety below.
In the meanwhile, a large-scale update number 1.1.0 will come on March 22 bringing the new Molzamite faction with a new character slot, the Labrys weapon type, the Refine feature (allowing to reroll an enchantment on an item), a new story chapter titled “Resurgence,” the Gauntlet game mode, new boss quests, equipment, and cosmetic gear. The player level cap will also be increased to 22 (from 20), while the maxim power will increase to 200 (from 150).
March 29 will see the launch of the NieR automata crossover content.
Babylon’s Fall is currently available for PS5, PS4, and PC.
