Today’s issue of Weekly Famitsu included a new batch of screenshots and artwork of Atelier Ryza: The Queen of Everlasting Darkness and the Secret Hideaway.
First of all, we meet a few new characters.
Anper Formar is an alchemist who rents a house in Ryza’s village. He is studying the nearby ruins and he is very knowledgeable. Yet, he’s unable to handle advanced alchemy due to a past incident.
Boos Brunnen is the only son of the Brunnen family and quite prideful. He’s quite strong, but he’s surprisingly smart.
Runber Dorn is Boos’ loyal follower, while Moritz Brunnen is his father. He’s a merchant who usually gets results at the expense of his reputation since he can be quite forceful.
We also get to take a look at gathering. You can gather materials in the field where there are grass, trees, rocks, and more. Ryza can use a variety of gathering tools, and the results change depending on the tools she uses. For instance, trees can yield bark if you use the proper tool.
Interestingly, the game also comes with a system that lets you create different gathering areas. Not only their appearance changes but also the materials that can be gathered.
You can check out the images below. If you want to see more, you can enjoy the first screenshots, the second batch, and the first video.
Atelier Ryza: The Queen of Everlasting Darkness and the Secret Hideaway will launch in Japan for PS4 and Switch on September 26, while the Steam launch remains unannounced. A western localization is (very) likely to be revealed tomorrow.
