Animal Crossing: New Leaf Adds Campground Location and amiibo Support

Off to camp!

Animal Crossing: New Leaf

During today’s Nintendo Direct it was revealed that Animal Crossing: New Leaf has just released a new update which comes with a new campground location. This area is full of new villagers living in their various RVs and cabins, each one tricked out to fit their own personality.  These new villagers can be invited to come live in your town if you befriend them, though you will need their amiibos first.

All of the unique camp focused items can also be purchased and brought back to your town for decoration, allowing you to access exclusive furniture. You can also use the new amiibo functionality by speaking with Wisp and then using one of the new character cards. By doing this the character that Wisp impersonates will then visit your campground and thus allow you to speak with them.

Animal Crossing

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is also allowing players to utilize their Splatoon and The Legend of Zelda amiibos. When activated a customized RV will arrive that players can explore, however, it doesn’t appear as if players can actually take the in-game specific furniture home with them.

Nintendo did confirm that you can get new clothes by doing this such as Link’s tunic for the yet unreleased The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Wolf Link, Medli, and Ganon will be available to talk to once their RV arrives. All of the current Legend of Zelda amiibos and the soon to be released “Classic Series” set will be usable for this new feature. If you are looking to add some new personalities into your town this update is certainly for you.
