Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans can finally rejoice. Following six days of egg-related torture brought on by Zipper the rabbit responsible for the game’s Bunny Day, Nintendo has released Animal Crossing: New Horizons 1.1.4 update which, most notably, adjusts egg drop rates.
The news comes via the patch notes posted up on the Nintendo Japan site (translated via Google Chrome). While the translation is not perfect, it has been confirmed that the 1.1.4 update addresses the following issues:
- Fixed a bug that caused Flick to not give you the right model for the Platinum Kogane / Scarab Beetle.
- During the Easter event, the appearance rate of some eggs has been adjusted until April 11, 2020.
- Eggs are easier to collect on the day of Easter (April 12, 2020).
While it remains to be seen exactly which eggs have had their drop rate adjusted in the 1.1.4 update, the fact that Nintendo’s acknowledged the issue as being detrimental to some players’ enjoyment of the game is good news for all.
Prior to the update, players were finding that eggs were far too common when fishing, making it difficult to catch the new fish that had popped up at the start of the new month. It also made catching three fish in a row more difficult, as it’s tricky to tell which fishy shadows are actually eggs.
Players shouldn’t worry too much about not being able to get the eggs they need to complete all of their Bunny Day DIY Recipes for Zipper as a result of this update, though. It was also noted in the patch notes that eggs of all kinds will be easier to collect on Easter, giving the Bunny Day event one final flourish before it ends.
