Pokemon Go is beginning to release on iOS or Android devices, having released in Australia and New Zealand earlier today. The app is free to download but there is a number of microtransactions that unlock items that help the player catch more Pokemon in the wild.
Pokecoins are the currency in Pokemon Go and you can use them to buy items like Pokeballs and Incense. You begin Pokemon Go with zero Pokecoins but also a healthy amount of basic items. The Pokecoins can be bought in bundles at the following prices:
- 100 Pokecoins: $0.99
- 550 Pokecoins: $4.99
- 1200 Pokecoins: $9.99
- 2500 Pokecoins: $19.99
- 5200 Pokecoins: $39.99
- 14500 Pokecoins: $99.99
The Pokecoins can then be spent on the in-game items. Pokeballs are used to catch Pokemon in the wild, Incense lures Pokemon to your location for 30 minutes, and the Egg Incubator is used to hatch new Pokemon from eggs that can also be purchased.
