Cold Iron Studios’ hotly-anticipated PvE multiplayer shooter, Aliens: Fireteam, is locked in to release this Summer with Focus Home Interactive taking on publishing duties for the title in European and Asian territories. While an exact release date is still yet to be set in stone, this recent confirmation of a “Summer 2021” release window means that the upcoming team-based third-person shooter is on track to launch sometime over the next few months.
The new intel comes by way of a tweet from Focus Home Interactive’s official Twitter account, as well as a blog post from the publisher’s own site. You can check out said tweet down below:
If you’ve been hankering to kill some xenomorphs with your friends in tow, then Aliens: Fireteam is likely to be the action experience for you.
Set 23 years after the original Alien trilogy, the game will drop players into the role of a Colonial Marine aboard the USS Endeavor, tasked with answering a distress call from the outer colonies.
Aliens: Fireteam will feature environments taken from the movies; expect to see dilapidated facilities, abandoned ruins and mysterious alien landscapes as you battle xenomorphs across four different campaigns with two friends or AI teammates.
Meanwhile, the game also boasts 20 different xenomorph types, which have been fine-tuned to challenge players to master their teamwork and co-ordination skills, as well as five different character classes, an expansive arsenal of customisable weapons and a character progression system.
Long story short, we’ve got high hopes that Aliens: Fireteam will finally deliver a shooter fans of the iconic licence have been clamouring for. Fingers firmly crossed, right?
But what say you? Are you ready to take an express elevator to hell in Aliens: Fireteam when it launches on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC? Or do you think it should simply be nuked from orbit just to be sure? Grab your motion trackers and let us know in the usual place down below.
