Activision Delays Call of Duty Warzone Pacific Season 2 For Bug Fixing

Fans of Activision’s Call of Duty: Warzone will have to wait a bit longer for the new season, as it has been struck by a delay of a few weeks in order to squash bugs. The announcement comes via a blog post, with a new launch date of February 14 set for the next Warzone update.

Some of the issues that contributed to the delay are certainly not what one would call normal. An example would be that of a crash that happens when the home button is pressed too many times on the Xbox, and of course, the invisible operator skins that are back with a vengeance.

“We feel your frustrations and hear you loud and clear. To date, we’ve deployed a number of updates, but more needs to be done,” the post explained.

“We will use this additional development time to deliver updates, including optimizations to gameplay, game balancing (including weapon and equipment balancing), to fix game stability and bugs, and to ensure an overall level of polish to improve the experience for players across Vanguard, Warzone Pacific, Black Ops Cold War, and Modern Warfare.”

The recent launch of the new Caldera map and crossover of Vanguard content have not been smooth, with performance issues a common sight. This is more apparent on consoles, but was never a problem back on the previous map.

This delay will hopefully give players the experience they are looking for in Call of Duty: Warzone on February 14. It is perhaps also important to note it could have something to do with the developers’ walkout and strike that is still ongoing at Raven Software.

The pending acquisition of parent company Activision Blizzard by Microsoft could bring about the change employees are looking for, but that will take some time still.
