Publishing the game on consoles, Telltale announced early last month it would come to PS4 and Xbox One. 7 Days to Die was originally a 2013 PC title. Inspired by the likes of Minecraft, Fallout, and zombie games in general, the game asks you to search for resources, including food, build a base, and defend it every seven days from zombie hordes.

“7 Days to Die combines first-person shooting, survival horror, tower defense and role-playing elements in a mix of combat, crafting, looting, mining, exploration and character growth to create what we hope you’ll think is a unique, addictive experience,” Rick Huenick explains in the release date announcement on the PlayStation Blog.

“It’s an open-world sandbox game to play alone, via splitscreen, or online, that gives you an enormous amount of freedom to choose how to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. You’re dropped into a harsh environment with almost nothing – not even clothes on your back.” Every seven days the blood moon rises however, the zombie hordes appear, and survival gets a lot more difficult.

“Everything in 7 Days to Die is fully destructible and moldable, and just as you can shape the world to your needs, the undead can tear it apart,” he continues. “You might have reinforced the doors and windows, you might have crafted mines and traps, but what about the floor under your very feet? Did you strengthen the foundations? What if the undead dig right in from underneath you?”

While the announcement only mentions PS4, it’s not a stretch to expect the Xbox One version to release June 28 as well. As we learn more about Telltale’s first foray into publishing and the future of 7 Days to Die on consoles, you’ll find it all right here on Twinfinite.
