The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening has finally returned to our screens 26 years after its original release. Lovingly remade on the Nintendo Switch, the game tells the story of Link as he wakes up on the shore of an island and must recover magical instruments to wake the Wind Fish and escape the island. Here’s what the download and install size is for Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening on Nintendo Switch.

Cutting right to the chase, players will be able to download the Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening from the Nintendo Switch eShop. Downloading and installing the digital version of Link’s Awakening will take up 5.8 GB of space on your Switch.

It is worth noting here, however, that if you pick up a physical copy of Link’s Awakening and play it off the cartridge, the install size of the game is considerably smaller, as the Switch simply reads the data off of the device, rather than having to download the entire game.

What’s New in Link’s Awakening on Switch?

For the most part, Link’s Awakening is just a faithful remake of the game that released on the Game Boy all those years ago. It doesn’t drastically change the core gameplay, and all the dungeons are the same, as are the trading sequences.

That being said, it does include a few additional bits to help Link’s Awakening feel like a modern Nintendo title. This includes a dungeon creator mode that allows players to take different dungeon rooms, piecing them together to then take them on and share with friends.

There’s also, of course, amiibo compatibility that’ll allow players to unlock more of these chambers in the game by scanning Legend of Zelda character amiibo into the game.

That’s everything you need to know on what Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening Switch’s download and install size is. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to check out our guide wiki or search for Twinfinite. We’ve also listed some other helpful guides on the game down below.
