When you have to find the Golden Leaves for Richard in Link’s Awakening, you’re going to have to make your way to Kanalet Castle, which, unfortunately, has a locked front gate.

Luckily, there is a cute little monkey named Kiki right outside the castle that will create a bridge for you, but you need to give him some bananas.

The bananas are given to you by Sale, the crocodile that lives in the only house on Toronbo Shores, the beach just south of Mabe Village.

But, to get Sale to give you the bananas, you need to give him a can of dog food, which is given to you by CiaoCiao for handing her a pink ribbon.

CiaoCiao is the cute little Chain Chomp in Mabe Village that lives on the right side of the house with the bigger Chain Chomp in front of it.

If you have not gotten the pink ribbon yet, this is obtained by winning the Yoshi doll from Trendy Game and then giving the Yoshi doll to Mamasha at the northern-most house in Mabe Village.

To sum things up, to get bananas:

  1. Get the pink ribbon by giving Mamasha the Yoshi doll from Trendy Game.

  2. Give the ribbon to CiaoCiao to get the dog food.

  3. Give the dog food to Sale to get the bananas.
